Recently, Nanjing Kerun Lubricants Co., LTD (hereinafter referred to as "Nanjing Kerun") participated in the comprehensive performance evaluation meeting for the National Key R&D Program project "Complete Technology and Demonstration Application of Clean Cutting for Typical Aerospace Material Components" (Project No. 2020YFB2010500). The meeting was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan, and the project smoothly passed the final acceptance.

The meeting was attended by principal researchers from 10 project member units, including Chengdu Tool Research Institute Co., Ltd., Chongqing University, Nanjing Kerun Industrial Fluids Co., LTD, Sichuan New Aviation Titanium Technology Co., Ltd., Aerospace Materials & Technology Institute, Chengfei Integration Technology Co., Ltd., Sentaiyingge (Chengdu) CNC Tool Co., Ltd., China Aviation Manufacturing Technology Research Institute, Capital Aerospace Machinery Co., Ltd., and Qingdao University of Technology, along with several well-known industry experts.

The project achieved breakthroughs in five areas of innovative technology, including:

  • High-speed dry cutting process technology based on ultrasound-assisted chip morphology control and new tool development.
  • Data-driven intelligent evolution of high-speed dry cutting processes.
  • Nano-particle enhanced micro-quantity extreme pressure cutting for multi-phase synergistic anti-wear and friction reduction with temperature field control.
  • Environmentally friendly, boron-free, formaldehyde-free targeted antimicrobial technology.
  • Multi-stage, deep purification, and recycling technology for water-soluble cutting fluids.

These advancements resulted in 16 key technologies and devices, such as high-power three-dimensional ultrasound-assisted devices, intelligent tool holders, adaptive dust removal devices, and specialized tools for dry cutting, micro-quantity extreme pressure, and wet cutting. The project addressed critical technical challenges in clean cutting within complex manufacturing environments, ensuring the autonomous and scalable application of efficient clean processing technologies in the aerospace sector. This contributes to the comprehensive green transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry, offering effective technical support for diverse enterprises transitioning to green manufacturing.

The project's results have already been demonstrated and applied in the aerospace and aviation sectors, with further promotion in industries such as automotive, medical, and rail transportation. Over 100 manufacturers have applied these technologies, resulting in significant economic and social benefits.

For example, a client in the aerospace industry experienced significant benefits after implementing Kerun's environmentally friendly metalworking fluid, KR-C8930XH, along with the integrated cutting fluid purification machine. On one hand, the aluminum corrosion inhibition performance of the cutting fluid was significantly enhanced, leading to an improved production environment. On the other hand, the lifespan of the cutting fluid in the tank was extended, reducing waste fluid discharge. Relevant data shows that these improvements helped the client reduce the overall cost of cutting fluid usage by more than 25%!
